Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Neha Pathmanaban ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in the Tetherly app ("the App"). Tetherly is a multi-tenant wedding companion app that couples use to share logistics, photos, and messages with their guests.

Information We Collect

From guests using a wedding's app

• Your name (used to log in and identify you within the app)
• Contact information (phone number and email address, if you choose to provide them)
• Dietary restrictions and food preferences
• Travel information (hotel, check-in/out dates, arrival time, flight number)
• Push notification device tokens (to send you wedding updates)
• Song requests
• Profile photo and short "how I know the couple" bio, if you choose to add them
• Chat messages you post to the wedding's guest chat (text and any photo you attach), plus reactions and replies you add to any message
• Packing list status
• Questions you ask the in-app AI assistant, and the responses returned to you (stored so you can revisit them in the History view; you can delete individual entries or clear all of them at any time from within the assistant)

From couples requesting a Tetherly app

If you submit the in-app request form to set up a new wedding on Tetherly, we collect:

• Couple name(s)
• Wedding date (or date range, for multi-day celebrations)
• Your email address
• City or venue (optional)
• Free-form notes you choose to include (optional)

How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used solely to:

• Personalize your experience in the App
• Help coordinate wedding logistics (meals, travel, music)
• Send push notifications with wedding updates and reminders
• Display your profile photo, bio, chat messages, and any photo attachments to other guests of the same wedding, so guests can recognize each other and interact
• Generate AI assistant responses to your questions about the wedding, drawing on the wedding's published details (schedule, dress codes, packing list, destination guide) plus general knowledge
• Allow the couple hosting your wedding to review what guests are asking, so they can update the app's information accordingly
• Respond to couples who request a new Tetherly app for their wedding (via email)

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

What Other Guests Can See

Some information is shared inside the wedding's app so guests can recognize each other and interact. Within a single wedding, other logged-in guests of that wedding can see:

• Your name and wedding-party role (e.g. bridesmaid, groomsman, partner), shown in the Attendees directory
• Your profile photo and bio, if you added them
• Chat messages, reactions, and replies you post, along with the name of the guest who posted them
• Song requests you add

Information you provide for logistics — dietary restrictions, contact details, travel and hotel information, packing list status, and questions you ask the AI assistant — is not shown to other guests. Those details are visible only to the couple hosting the wedding and to us as the app operator. Guests never see other guests' data across different weddings.

The couple hosting your wedding can turn off the Attendees directory and the guest Chat tab entirely. When either is turned off, the corresponding information is not visible to other guests.

Photos and the External Shared Album

Photos are handled in two distinct places:

• Inside the App — your guest profile photo, and any photo you attach to a chat message, are uploaded to and stored by Tetherly (see "Service Providers" below).
• The Photos tab — this is a link to a Google Photos shared album that the couple hosting your wedding sets up separately. When you tap "Open in Google Photos" and view or upload photos there, you're interacting with Google Photos directly. Tetherly does not receive, store, or process those photos, and Google's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Service Providers

We use a small number of third-party services to operate Tetherly. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

• Supabase — database, file storage (for photos), and serverless functions. All data is stored on encrypted servers.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (used to notify us when a couple submits the Tetherly request form, and, once a verified sender domain is in place, to send the couple a confirmation of their submission). Also used to forward AI-response reports submitted via the in-app "Report" button to the couple hosting the wedding.
• Anthropic — AI processing for the in-app assistant. When you ask a question, the question, the wedding's published details (schedule, dress codes, packing list, destination guide), and a small profile tag (your guest name and role, e.g. "wedding party") are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted via the API and retains submissions only briefly for abuse monitoring. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
• Apple Push Notification service — delivery of push notifications to iOS devices.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties.

Data Retention

Guest data is retained for the duration of each wedding's event period and a reasonable window afterward, then deleted. Wedding-request submissions are retained until we have followed up and either set up the requested app or closed out the request. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data

Children's Privacy

Tetherly is intended for use by adult wedding guests and couples and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.
